Grinneli - from Ensenada, Baja California, México – is an internationally recognized Middle Eastern Dance Artist, choreographer and instructor. She has over 25 years of experience in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary Dance, Mexican Folk Dances and Middle Eastern Dances. Grinneli is an internationally award winning artist and nationally recognized instructor and has been awarded multiple awards for her performances and dedication to the dance. In 2009, Grinneli was featured on the DVD “The World of Belly Dance” by Jillina and Hollywood Music Center, in California, USA. In 2011 she was invited to dance at the release of the cd “Dalaa el Nawaem”, by Fadi le Saadi, in Mexico City.
She has been interviewed by local newspapers such as El Mexicano, El Vigía, as well as by international media such as Belly Dance Magazine (USA), BBC (UK), Egypt's Daily News (Egypt) and the O'Reilly Factor (USA).
Grinneli is also the founder and director of Las Musas Dance Academy founded in 2007 in Ensenada where she and her staff of nationally and internationally profiled teachers provide classes in Middle Eastern dances, Ballet, Flamenco, Hip Hop, Tap and Jazz. Keeping a high level of standard Grinneli and Las Musas Dance Academy won best choreography in the children’s’ category and 2nd place in the fusion category at the Belly Racks competition 2009.
Grinneli has since 2006 worked as a dancer, choreographer and workshop leader for Instituto de Cultura de Baja California (ICBC) through the programs Cultura en Todas Partes, Fondo Estatal para la Cultura Infantil (FECI) and the program Artes Escénicas. She also teaches at Pirouette Dance Studio in Tijuana, Mexico.
In cooperation with ICBC she has also produces the event Encuentro Binacional de Danza Arabe with the purpose of promoting professionalism in Oriental Dances. Grinneli with ICBC have presented intensive courses, master classes and special presentations with teachers of great experience, prestigious as well as International recognition.
Grinneli is currently under the mentorship of DaVid of Scandinavia of The Ethnic Dance Academy (EDA), and graduated from Amir Thaleb's Arabian Dance School (ADS), Argentina under the direction of Yousef Constantino in 2011.
Grinneli holds a Diploma in Teaching of Dance from El Sindicato Nacional de Trabajadores de la Educación y el Instituto de Estudios Educativos y Sindicales de América en Baja California, Sección 2 (S.N.T.E.) and She has a degree in International Business Adminitration from Centro de Enseñanza Técnica y Superior (Cetys Universidad), Ensenada, México.
Grinneli has through studied with recognized teachers such as Yazmina Zarod, DaVid of Scandinavia, Jillina, Mahmoud Reda, Raqia Hassan, Momo Kados, Dina, Randa Kamel, Amir Thaleb and Yousef Constantino among others in México, Chile, Argentina, United States of America and Egypt grown into a well reputed professional Middle Eastern Dance artist.
In 2007, Grinneli participated in the world renowned dance coach Raqia Hassan’s instructor training for Orientale dancers in Egypt and receive her teacher certificate. Inspired to explore the Egyptian culture and country further, Grinneli traveled to Alexandria, Cairo, Luxor and Aswan. She first-handedly experienced the birth place of the dance and culture of Middle Eastern dance allowing her to commit to preserving the values, customs and respect for complex traditions that Middle Eastern dances demand.
