Lucia is a an internationally acclaimed and multi award winning Middle Eastern Dance artist, choreographer, instructor, troupe director, event sponsor, and a talent agent in the San Diego, CA, USA. For several years, Lucia was the featured performer for RJ Reynolds Concert Promotions in San Diego. Today, she continues to be one of San Diego’s most popular and highly sought Middle Eastern dance entertainers and she also manages the scheduling of dance entertainment at multiple fine dining establishments and for cultural and family events.
An avid supporter of the San Diego Middle Eastern dance community; she was the Vice President and President of the San Diego Middle Eastern Dance Association (SAMEDA) for 5 years (2006-2011).
In November, 2011, Lucia was televised performing in Beirut and awarded 2nd place in Oriental Dance at Amani’s Oriental Dance festival/ competition in Beirut, Lebanon.
Lucia has trained with DaVid of Scandinavia for several years, and some of the finest International Middle Eastern Dancers in the world and has trained in Lebanon, Egypt, Argentina and Turkey from some of the world’s finest artists. During her career, Lucia has performed at many prestigious venues including events featuring Superstar Middle Eastern Artists Amani, Amr Diab, Ihab Tawfik, Fadi El Saadi, Faten Salama, Aida Nour, Nabila Mettuali, Mahmoud Reda, Leila of Cairo, Randa Kamel and more.
Lucia has continues her studies in Middle Eastern Dance, in addition to studying Persian, Samba and Flamenco dance from notable professionals. She has received awards for Oriental Dance and for Flamenco-Arabic fusion and was featured in Beirut’s News Publication in November 2011, and in the Spring 2010 Belly Dance Magazine and the Uptown News publication in San Diego.
In 2008, Lucia presented workshops aboard and Carnival Elation Cruise Ship to Mexico and performed aboard the ship with her troupe, the Sands of Arabia. Lucia and the ensemble were nominated in the Best of San Diego 2008 “Dance Group” category.
During her career, Lucia has developed a dynamic, entertaining and graceful style of dance. Her shows include an emphasis in traditional Egyptian style Raks Sharki ("belly dance") and Lebanese style with folkloric dance (Khaleegi, Melaya Lef, cane, Sai'di', debke and shamadan) and props. Lucia welcomes audience participation and enjoys sharing the joy of dance and celebration with others.
